BEZ6 Block 167 House Visit, 15 December 2010



DPM Wong Kan Seng visited Block 167 on Wednesday evening. Hosting the visit was Miss Lee Ker Hwa, Zone 6 RC Chairperson, her fellow grassroots leaders and officers from the HDB, Town Council, LTA and the police. Many residents eagerly invited DPM Wong into their homes for refreshment and chit-chats. Residents took this opportunity to share with their special guest many of their thoughts and suggestions to improve their living environment. Many are looking forward to the start of the Neighbourhood Renewal Program that would bring extra sports and recreational facilities along the canal and jogging track.

BISHAN EAST LUNAR NEW YEAR GARDEN PARTY



The Bishan East Grassroots Organisations would be organising the Bishan East Lunar New Year Garden Party for residents to welcome the Year of the Rabbit in 2011. The garden party would be held at the popular Bishan East Community Park in the estate where residents could view the live performances under the stars while enjoying the sumptuous spread of food among their family and loved ones. The Guest-of-Honour is DPM Wong Kan Seng, Member of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC and Advisor of Bishan East GRO. Tickets are priced at the $3 per person and are available at the Bishan Community Club. So come down and join us on Saturday, 12 February 2010!

BEZ5 Block 149 House Visit, 2 December 2010



The month of December brings about a slower pace with the start of the school for residents of Bishan East. With a more leisurely mood and the cooler weather in December, residents welcomed the door-to-door house visit of DPM Wong Kan Seng, Member of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC on 2 December 2010. During the block visit, Mr Wong invited residents to share their thoughts freely on what further improvements or upgrading works the residents wish for. Many residents commented that Bishan East estate is already being served by unsurpassed level of amenities and conveniences. Several complimented the proactive service attitude of the Town Council staffs who looked after the conservancy issues. In general, residents rate Bishan East as a highly liveable estate and are not willing to consider making another estate to make their homes.
