Close to 150 families dropped by Hampton Pre-School at Block 178 on Saturday, 14 November 2009. The open house was from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Our visitors were given a tour around the centre by the friendly teachers and centre director who were ever ready to answer their queries and concerns. Not surprisingly, many resident were so impressed by the newly renovated facilities and the interesting curriculum offered that many signed up and made payment on the spot to secure a placement for their child in 2010. There was a handful of parents who even enquired whether they could book in advance for their child who are only old enough to be enrolled by 2011!
The brand new childcare service is brought to Bishan East by the Bishan East PAP Community Foundation. Here are some pictures videos taken during the open house.

i was disappointed that there is no class for K2. It caused me to be a dilemma cause i have 2 kids, k2 and playgroup in 2010. Separating the 2 siblings is definetely not a good choice.
Although it is managed by EtonHouse, but has a feeling that it is still strictly under control by Bishan East Committee. Not sure is it a good thing? For example, few days before open house, enrollment criteria changed and priority only given to Bishan East Residents, also changed in the Cheque Payee etc. Spoke to people around, and know that the Committee member has final says on many things. Not sure will he curriculum proposed by Hampton need to seek approval by Committee members as well, this could potentially affect the quality.

For your information, Hampton Pre-School is a collaborative project between the PCF and EtonHouse. The curriculum is developed by EtonHouse for Hampton, and the children are taught by the teachers under the management
of EtonHouse. The training and pedagogical support of the staff at Hampton is also managed and facilitated by EtonHouse. This ensures the continuous professional development of the staff and their access to the latest research and thinking in the early childhood sector.
In other words, EtonHouse manages the daily operations of Hampton and works closely with PCF only on matters of policy to ensure that it is consistent with the objectives of the PCF.
