BISHAN EAST RACIAL HARMONY DAY 2010

On the Saturday evening of 17 July 2010, Bishan East ushered in the annual Racial Harmony Day. The aim of the event was to foster an awareness and a deeper sense of understanding between the major ethnic races among our community in Bishan East. Mr Wong Kan Seng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Member of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC was the special guest for the evening.

Guests, residents and grassroots leaders were treated to a evening packed with cultural performances with themes which centred around our major groups. In an impromptu speech, DPM Wong stressed on the importance of peaceful coexistence as the bedrock to Singapore's growth and development. Not forgetting the performers, he also expressed his appreciation and thanks for the hardwork and efforts put in by the organisers and the school performers for this important event.

Here are the photos taken during the event.
