BEZ6 Block Visit, 7 January 2010

Dear Residents of Bishan East,

Here's wishing one and all a better new year in 2010!

With the start of the new year, Mr Wong Kan Seng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs started a new round of block visits. DPM Wong visited Blocks 160 and 161 at Bishan East Zone 6 on the Thursday evening of 7 January 2010.

All together, there is a total of 114 households in the two blocks. The visit was hosted by the Zone 6 RC Chairperson, Miss Lee Ker Hwa and accompanied by fellow grassroots leaders and officers from the Town Council, Police, LTA, HDB and NEA.

Residents eagerly awaited the arrival and visit by Mr Wong and warmly invited him into their homes for a chat. Many did not miss this opportunity to take photos with their special quest. Several households were spontaneous in giving many useful feedbacks on the general living environment and are especially appreciative of the convenience brought about by the recently completed Lift Upgrading Program. Many residents gave the feedback that they are looking forward to the transformation of their estate through the coming Neighbourhood Renewal Program with the hope that Bishan Park Canal would bring along a refreshing change.

Here is the first set of photos taken during the house visit. A second set would be uploaded soon, so watch out for this space!
